Our Community - Wasaga Beach
Perhaps the best kept secret is our endless recreation trails for hiking, cycling, cross country skiing, snowmobiling and excellent fishing for rainbow trout, salmon, pike, smallmouth bass, pickerel, whitefish and all types of panfish. Fishing is best from a boat, but you can also fish any public access points along the Nottawasaga river bank, the best spots are within the Wasaga Beach Provincial Park boundaries or at the mouth of the river, especially in the spring and fall.
Two boat launch facilities operated by the Wasaga Beach Fish & Game Club are located on the Nottawasaga River, a Boat Launch beside the Nancy Island parking lot and a Canoe Launch and Shelter further upstream on the riverbank at Wasaga Sports Park.

We Believe in Supporting our Community
The Wasaga Beach Fish and Game Club and its members enjoy being involved in community events. In addition to the Annual Kids Fishing Derby and the Annual Rainbow Trout Derby, our members are actively involved in the Adopt-a-Road program, Annual River Bank Clean Up, Donating books to the Wasaga Beach Public Library, our Annual Yard Sale, Assisting the Ministry of Natural Resources in projects such as: Tree Planting, Hatchery and Stocking Projects and the Collection of Rainbow Trout Eggs. Our members are also strong supporters of Local Remembrance Day Ceremonies, The Christmas Toy Drive, and The Wasaga Beach Santa Claus Parade.
Wasaga Beach is home to the world's longest freshwater beach at 14.5km in length and has long been a tourist hotspot in Southern Ontario. For over a century tourists have traveled to shores of southern Georgian Bay to stroll along the 14 kilometers of white sand beach, swim in our clean waters and enjoy the view of The Blue Mountains across the bay. The picture to the right shows Beach 1 (the main beach) looking west. Beaches 2 and 3 are far away in the distance, a boardwalk runs most of the way along Beach 1 and 2. There are six public beach areas numbered from 1 to 6; the higher the number, the smaller and less crowded it gets and the more rocks you'll find on the shore.
